Dorene, John Mark, Bradley and Paula, GBU members from Wooster, Ohio, used Give Back Groups Project Start-Up Funds to help a local dog shelter in their area.
Group leader Dorene inquired with Wayne County Dog Shelter in Wooster, Ohio, to determine which items it was in most desperate need of. Those items included blankets, collars, leashes, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, treats and sturdy toys.
Knowing how expensive pet supplies can be, Dorene did a lot of research ahead of time and organized her list to find the places she could “get the best bang for her buck.”
Dorene held on to all of her receipts for her purchases and submitted them to GBU for reimbursement. Through the Project Start-Up Funds program, GBU reimburses up to $250 per GBU member in the group. Since Dorene had three other GBU members in her group, GBU reimbursed the team $1,000 for their shopping supplies.
The shelter and its supporters were extremely thankful to receive all of the items the team purchased. It was thanks to Dorene’s impressive bargain hunting and creativity in understanding how the project could work for her group’s needs. Go Dorene!
