Mother's Day Popsicle-Stick Picture Frame
May 2, 2022
Surprise mom this Mother’s Day with a one-of-a-kind, homemade popsicle-stick picture frame. Use common craft items to create a thoughtful gift she will enjoy for years to come.
Items needed to make the frame:
• Popsicle sticks
• Markers or crayons (optional)
• Hot glue gun with glue sticks
• Construction paper
• Buttons, pom-poms or gems
• Hinge clip
• Magnet buttons
• Cute photo of mom and kid(s)
First, layout the popsicle sticks on a flat surface to figure out the size and shape of your frame.
Cut a piece of construction paper that is slightly smaller than your frame and hot glue it to the popsicle sticks. This will ensure the frame holds together.
Then, flip over the frame and start decorating it. Hot glue the buttons, pom-poms or gems onto the frame. If the frame is made of plain popsicle sticks, feel free to brighten it up and color the frame using markers or crayons.
Once you have completed decorating the frame, hot glue the hinge clip to the frame to hold the picture and hot glue the magnetic buttons to the back of the frame. Open the hinge clip and position your picture in it. When the glue has cooled and hardened, wrap the frame in wrapping paper or put it in a small gift bag until Mother’s Day.
Once mom opens her gift, she can hang it on the fridge or wherever she is likely to see it often. Your mom will be sure to smile when she sees the sweet picture and frame every morning when she sips her morning beverage.
Each year, we set aside time to deep clean and organize our homes. But when was the last time you set aside time to organize your finances? We sat down with GBU Life Home Office agents Leah Teahl and Dominic Nicciai to learn about the benefits of an annual financial review and how you can get started.
Every child can name a teacher who made a difference: the one who stayed late to help, offered encouragement at just the right moment or made learning feel exciting. Recognizing a teacher’s dedication doesn’t require grand gestures, but it does call for intention. Thoughtful appreciation gifts, especially during Teacher Appreciation Week or year-end celebrations, offer a tangible way to express heartfelt gratitude.
