Helping Those Who Serve For Us

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, GBU's Operation Reach
Out program
will look a little different this year.
If you have had the chance to volunteer
for Operation Reach Out packing day in
the past, you know that this event is a
fun day of elbow-to-elbow sorting and
packing. Although we waited to make
our decision in the hopes that
Covid-19 would be behind us, the
safety of our members and community
is still at the front of our minds. This
year, to keep everyone safe, we will be
managing Operation Reach Out a bit
differently than in the past.
When we met with Operation Troop
Appreciation, the Pittsburgh-based
organization that we worked with last
year to facilitate Operation Reach Out,
we found that it was not receiving the
funding it needed this year to fully
support our deployed units and veterans
in need. This decline in support is due to
funding and grants being rerouted to
focus on the Covid-19 pandemic. That's
why, this year, we've decided to refocus
Operation Reach Out to provide support
to Operation Troop Appreciation for the
next six months. It is expected that we
will help nearly 7,000 deployed, active duty
service members and returning
veterans during this time and provide
much-needed and wished for supplies for
their safety and comfort.
Here's how you
can help this year:
1) Send a card
:
Download a card to color or send a
note of thanks via the Operation
Reach Out website.
2) Donate
:
Donate top-requested items using
Operation Troop Appreciation's
Amazon wish list, or donate any
amount to the project!
3) Volunteer:
Volunteer to help on one of our
designated, limited volunteer days. These days are limited to just 25
volunteers per day.
Each year, we set aside time to deep clean and organize our homes. But when was the last time you set aside time to organize your finances? We sat down with GBU Life Home Office agents Leah Teahl and Dominic Nicciai to learn about the benefits of an annual financial review and how you can get started.
Every child can name a teacher who made a difference: the one who stayed late to help, offered encouragement at just the right moment or made learning feel exciting. Recognizing a teacher’s dedication doesn’t require grand gestures, but it does call for intention. Thoughtful appreciation gifts, especially during Teacher Appreciation Week or year-end celebrations, offer a tangible way to express heartfelt gratitude.

Board Election GBU Financial Life’s national bylaws allow adult insured members (as defined in Article VI, Section 1 of the bylaws) the right to vote for the organization’s Board of Directors. Ballots will be mailed at the beginning of August 2026 to all eligible members. Eligible members may vote by paper ballot via mail or electronic ballot online once they receive their ballot. Cumulative voting or voting by proxy is not permitted.
