Achieving a New You with a GBU Social Membership

February 7, 2022

Let us help you "do good".

Volunteering and doing good for those around you can boost your self-esteem as well as give you the self-fulfillment and satisfaction you are craving after such a difficult year. If you have added "community volunteering" to your bucket list for 2022, let GBU help you get there by taking advantage of one of the many volunteer and matching programs we offer. These special programs are sure to help you make a difference in your local community, and they are available to both insured and social members!

As a member of GBU Life, you can participate in Birthday Match each year during your birthday month. If you make a donation to your favorite 501(c)3 organization during your birthday month, we will match your donation up to $100! You have until the last day of the following month to submit your application. For example, if your birthday is in February, you have until March 31 to apply.

Do you have a 501(c)3 organization where you volunteer? If so, GBU would like to support your volunteer work by providing a donation of $15 per hour for up to 10 hours of your volunteer time. This means up to a $150 donation to your favorite local organization. You can apply for this program twice each calendar year, under a separate organization each time. This program is known as the Making a Difference One Hour at a Time program.

When you identify a way to help out in your local community, you can form a Give Back Group. Your power to “do good” increases with each GBU member on your team. Have a neighbor whose house just burned down? Hold a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for them and GBU will reimburse you for the cost of your fundraiser, up to $250 per GBU member in your group. Participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s? Maximize your fundraiser by creating a Give Back Group, and GBU will match what you raise, up to $1,000 per GBU member in your group. This is a great program to use if you do your fundraising via Facebook Fundraising.

Let us help you stay healthy.

There is no secret that daily exercise can do wonders for your mental and physical health. If you are ready to take the plunge and join a gym this year, make sure you sign up for VIP Perks! to take advantage of discounts for health clubs in your area.

Not only does a GBU Life Social Membership give you access to programs giving gym discounts, it also gives you access to the Get Fit Clubs. In GBU’s Walking, Running, Biking and/or Golf Get Fit Club, you will be able to keep yourself accountable while having fun and winning gift cards. Not only will we help you track your progress, we will also reward you for reaching your milestones. Engage online with other GBU Life Club members and have access to exclusive fitness content.
