DIY Fall or Winter Door Décor

October 25, 2022
Updating your home when the seasons change doesn’t have to be expensive. Using common materials found in your home, you can create a festive front door that shows off your personal style and encourages guests to enjoy the season!

Materials needed:

  • Roll of butcher/freezer paper
  • Markers, crayons, paint–whatever medium you prefer to use
  • Tape and glue
  • Utility knife
  • Fall- and winter-themed stencils, self-adhesive foam pieces, stickers, ribbon and more!

Steps:

  1. Open the door and wrap butcher/freezer paper around it. Using a utility knife, cut the paper around the doorknob and at the bottom of the door.
  2. Decorate the door in a seasonal style you love.

Fall Door Décor Ideas

  • Halloween or Thanksgiving themed
  • Pumpkin patch fun
  • Fall leaves

Winter Door Décor Ideas

  • Holiday themed (Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Diwali)
  • Winter Wonderland
  • Merry and Bright

While this article suggests decorating your front door, the fun doesn’t need to stop there. Challenge family members to a bedroom door decorating contest. The winner gets to choose a fall or winter adventure to participate in such as a visit to the pumpkin patch or a night of ice skating. Happy decorating!

To celebrate our 134th anniversary, GBU Life launched the Birthday Bash initiative, calling upon the GBU Life community to honor our fraternal legacy through service. GBU Life invited members, producers, and community leaders to assemble and deliver shelf-stable cake kits for individuals and families who may otherwise go without a birthday celebration. What can seem like a simple act of service could be the spark of hope someone needed.
