Birthday Match Inspiration: National Rescue Dog Day

We want to celebrate your birthday! And while we would love to throw you a big party with pizza, cake (chocolate, please!) and balloons, we have another idea in mind. Through GBU’s Birthday Match benefit, we will match up to $100 when you donate to your favorite 501(c)3 organization. And if you decide to do a birthday fundraiser on Facebook, we will match your fundraiser up to $250!
This means that your donation goes even further.
So, what do you think? Looking for inspiration? The month of May brings National Rescue Dog Day. A GBU member with a recent or upcoming birthday could consider utilizing the
Birthday Match benefit to help a pet rescue organization in their area. The donation could help provide the animal shelter with food, medical care and more.

Please note that you have until the last day of next month to submit your application. For example, if your birthday is in February, you have until March 31 to apply. Additionally, you must complete an application
to qualify for this benefit.

The GBU Life Scholarship Awards support students in college, trade programs, non-college programs, and graduate school, helping them achieve their dreams, setting them on a career path and realizing life goals. Since its founding, the GBU Foundation has awarded 4,500 scholarships and educational grants totaling more than $3.2 million. In 2025, 215 members received $226,000 to support their two‑year, four‑year and graduate studies. Here’s a look at where the rubber meets the road — as we check in on past grantees to see how their scholarship awards have helped them stay on course, where they are now, and where they hope to be in the future.
